What does Cevro's AI governance cover?

You register each AI system, whether an internal model, a fine-tune, an open-source model or a third-party API. Cevro classifies it as Unacceptable, High, Limited or Minimal risk and maps it to the EU AI Act, the NIST AI RMF and Nigeria's NDPA. Each system gets its own requirement checklist per region, with evidence links and a daily check for drift. It supports your compliance work; it does not replace legal advice.

What happens when a new AI law is passed?

Laws are stored as configuration, not code. Cevro's team adds the new law's requirements, and every registered system in the affected risk tiers picks them up immediately, with no migration project on your side. Obligations are only as accurate as the legal text we load, so confirm them with counsel.

Which countries does Cevro cover?

Cevro's jurisdiction catalog maps the data-protection framework of 90 countries and territories across six continents (Africa 12, Asia 14, Europe 34, North America 10, South America 10, Oceania 10). It includes GDPR, UK GDPR, Brazil's LGPD, South Africa's POPIA, India's DPDP Act, China's PIPL, Japan's APPI, the Australian Privacy Act, Nigeria's NDPA and more. Where a country has no comprehensive law, the catalog says so instead of inventing one.

Does mapping a country make me compliant there?

No. The catalog is an informational reference that shows which law applies, what it asks of you and which deadlines it sets, and Cevro tracks your checklist, flags data-residency and cross-border vendor conflicts, and keeps the evidence together. It is not legal advice, laws change, and you should confirm requirements with qualified local counsel before relying on them for a compliance decision.

Do I need a security team to use this?

No — Cevro is built so a founder or first engineering hire with zero compliance headcount can get audit-ready alone, and every failed check tells you exactly what to do about it. But it scales the other direction too: multi-seat roles, dedicated auditor seats, and Slack/webhook drift alerts mean an existing security or compliance team can run Cevro as their day-to-day monitoring layer just as well.

Does this replace my auditor?

No, and it shouldn't. Cevro gets your controls into a passing state and organizes the evidence an auditor needs, so the actual audit is faster and cheaper — but a licensed auditor still issues your SOC 2 report.

How is this different from Drata, Vanta, or Secureframe?

Those platforms are built for teams that already have a compliance budget and headcount. Cevro is priced and scoped for the moment before that — a smaller price point, a setup measured in minutes rather than a sales cycle, an AI-governance module included rather than sold as an add-on, dedicated plan catalogs for healthcare (HIPAA) and fintech (PCI DSS / CBN) alongside the standard SOC 2 / ISO 27001 track, and first-class NDPA support none of them offer at all.

Do you support Nigerian compliance requirements, not just US/EU frameworks?

Yes — the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 is mapped on every check like SOC 2 or ISO 27001 are, plus dedicated tracking for NDPC registration status, DPO designation, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and a breach register that calculates the NDPC's 72-hour notification deadline automatically. Fintech tenants also get CBN Risk-Based Cybersecurity Framework incident tracking with its 24-hour deadline. This isn't a bolted-on regional add-on — it's treated the same as any other framework in the platform.

What does the trial include?

Everything on your vertical's plan: every integration, hourly scans, the full policy and risk register, and evidence export. After your demo and approval, your workspace starts with a 7-day trial that doesn't require a card.

Is my cloud data safe to connect?

Cevro only ever requests scoped, read-only credentials for scanning, and every table in the platform is isolated per tenant with row-level security enforced at the database layer — the same discipline the product checks for in your stack.

Do you support HIPAA or PCI DSS, not just SOC 2?

Yes — healthcare and fintech are separate plan catalogs with their own onboarding checklist and vendor-tracking fields (BAAs for HIPAA, service-provider PCI status for PCI DSS Req. 12.8, CBN incident reporting for fintech). One honest limit: things like PCI's network segmentation and cardholder-data-environment scoping require a QSA and aren't something any cloud scan can verify — Cevro won't claim otherwise.
